What People Say About Us

Over the past twenty years I have framed over four hundred pieces of original Asian art at the FRAMERS' WORKSHOP in Brookline, and I simply can't think of a better place to go. One of my greatest joys is hunkering down at a work station after consulting with staff on framing options, and spending the next few hours crafting the perfect mat and frame for each of my most recent art finds.

It's important to me to get professional advice from staff who know what they're talking about — and this crew does, starting with their fearless leader, Mike, who is the on-site owner and a preeminent artist in his own right. Framers' staff "see outside the box," and help me look creatively at each work of art with fresh eyes to make the framing selections that best display the pieces — this is no cookie cutter operation!

Although I then have the option of leaving my art to be custom framed and finished by the staff, I like doing the framing myself. While I'm pretty proficient at framing at this point, getting generous help and guidance from the staff with the actual framing process is not - and never was - an issue. All supplies and tools are provided. Make a mistake? Not to worry! Customers only need their wits as they work in their individual booths, building their frames, positioning their art within the custom cut mats, and listening to the shop music which, on any given day, ranges from rock, bluegrass, and soul, to jazz, classical, and opera.

All in all, this is THE place to go for framing, and to go out of your way if necessary! There's a great selection of mats, including conservation for museum quality framing, as well as frames for every budget, including wood and metal, both in-stock and special order. You'll be in the mixed company of others of all ages, together sharing an euphoric sense of satisfaction from the hands-on creative work in which you're engaged. Got Art? Need it Framed? Do it Here!
